Terrorist fundraiser in conservative Yorba Linda, CA, citizens protest

YORBA LINDA, Calif. (KABC) -- Hundreds protested in Orange County on Sunday night, accusing speakers at an Islamic fundraiser of being radical Muslims.

"You're messing with Americans now. We're not England, we're not British, we're Americans," one protester yelled.

The protesters are upset over the speakers who headlined an event at the Yorba Linda Community Center. Spokesman Waqas Syed said the Islamic Circle of North America is raising money to fight homelessness and abuse, and the speakers were only invited to talk about their charity work.

Brooklyn-based Imam Siraj Wahhaj was once named as a co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, but he was never charged.

"He has said specifically he is in favor of Sharia law and stoning of women," said Rep. Ed. Royce.

Imam Amir Abdel Malik Ali publicly supports Hezbollah, which the CIA calls a terrorist group.

"These people are known terrorist instigators, not even terrorist sympathizers," said activist Deborah Pauly.

The Orange County Register failed to mention that Congressman Gary Miller (CA-42) and Congressman Ed Royce (CA-40) spoke at the protest against the islamic fundraiser. Also speaking were Yorba Linda city council-persons Nancy Rikel and John Anderson, and Villa Park City Councilwoman Deborah Pauly.

ICNA is linked to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Amir-Abdel Malik-Ali says, "The Israelis were in control of 9-11," which "was staged to give an excuse to wage war against Muslims around the world." "Stay conscious and ask Allah to raise the Muslims and give us victory over the disbeliever." When it's all over, the only one standing is gonna be us (Muslims)."

Siraj Wahaj is referred to by the Muslim Brotherhood as the "American Imam". He was named as an Unindicted Co Conspirator in the World Trade Center bombing investigation in 1993. He believes in converting gang members to Islam for the "day America will crumble." Wahaj says for the faithful "to go into the hood and prisons and convert disenfranchised minorities, and then arm and train them to carry out an Uzi Jihad in the inner cities."

Susan, spokesperson for the City of Yorba Linda Parks and Recreation Department said that the city was aware that the ICNA was scheduled to have an event at the center, but that they were a "public, city/community facility.  Legally, by state law you cannot deny a group access to the public facility."  The Parks and Rec department fielded many calls of protest prior to the event.

Will Senator Scott Brown Block GITMO Closure?

One of the things Scott Brown criticized during his recently successful Senate campaign was Obama's decision to give Miranda Rights and Tax-Funded American Lawyers to terrorists. Brown feels terrorists should be held as enemy combatants, including the Christmas Day bomber. And that waterboarding is not torture. Can Brown's election have any effect on these policies? Probably not. The pResident has broad authority to make decisions about terrorist trials, as the Commander in Chief of the armed forces.
On the other hand, there might be a little problem with funding now that Brown has been elected. And it is not just about Brown himself. No Democrat up for reelection is sitting in a "safe" seat. The realization has finally hit home that ignoring constituents has serious consequences. And the majority of Americans disapproves of criminal trials for terrorists or bringing GITMO terrorists to the United States.

Obama’s plan to buy an Illinois state prison for use as a detention facility and site for military trials of some Guantanamo prisoners will require Congress to appropriate $150 million or more. White House officials have also said they want Congress to change current law so that some prisoners could be brought to the U.S. for indefinite detention without trial, if necessary.
Some analysts said that even before Brown’s victory Obama needed the equivalent of a triple-bank-shot to get Congress to agree to such moves. Now, they said, it could be all but impossible.

Somali Tried to Board Flight With Explosives Last Month

MOGADISHU, Somalia — A man tried to board a commercial airliner in Mogadishu last month carrying powdered chemicals, liquid and a syringe that could have caused an explosion in a case bearing chilling similarities to the terrorist plot to blow up a Detroit-bound airliner, officials told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

The Somali man — whose name has not yet been released — was arrested by African Union peacekeeping troops before the Nov. 13 Daallo Airlines flight took off. It had been scheduled to travel from Mogadishu to the northern Somali city of Hargeisa, then to Djibouti and Dubai. A Somali police spokesman, Abdulahi Hassan Barise, said the suspect is in Somali custody.

"We don't know whether he's linked with al-Qaida or other foreign organizations, but his actions were the acts of a terrorist. We caught him red-handed," said Barise.

A Nairobi-based diplomat said the incident in Somalia is similar to the attempted attack on the Detroit-bound airliner on Christmas Day in that the Somali man had a syringe, a bag of powdered chemicals and liquid — tools similar to those used in the Detroit attack. The diplomat spoke on condition he not be identified because he isn't authorized to release the information....

A Somali security official involved in the capture of the suspect in Mogadishu said he had a 2.2-pound package of chemical powder and a container of liquid chemicals. The security official said the suspect was the last passenger to try to board.

Once security officials detected the powder chemicals and syringe, the suspect tried to bribe the security team that detained him, the Somali security official said. The security official said the suspect had a white shampoo bottle with a black acid-like substance in it. He also had a clear plastic bag with a light green chalky substance and a syringe containing a green liquid. The security official spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to release the information.

Is Yemen Tomorrow's War?

Why is it that only TODAY did I learn that fully HALF of the detainees remaining at GITMO are from Yemen? Is this some sort of secret? Why is it that TODAY I learned that one of the Gitmo detainees released in 2007 to Saudi Arabia disappeared following some sort of anti-terror class, and resurfaced on Yemen as the head of Al Quaeda there? Why is it that a man with known connections to Yemen's Al Quaeda was NOT placed on a no-fly list and allowed to fly in an airplane to Detroit? A man who follows the very same Imam who was linked to Hasan, the Fort Hood muslim terrorist? Why is it that Homeland Security seems to busy itself more with Americans who read the Constitution than foreigners who openly call for America's destruction? I, for one, am tired of it. Something's got to change.

Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) Sunday said that Yemen could be the ground of America's next overseas war if Washington does not take preemptive action to root out al-Qaeda interests there.

Lieberman, who helms the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, said on "Fox News Sunday" that the U.S. will have to take an active approach in Yemen after multiple recent terrorist attacks on the U.S. were linked back to the Middle Eastern nation.

The Connecticut senator said that an administration official told him that "Iraq was yesterday's war, Afghanistan is today's war. If we don't act preemptively, Yemen will be tomorrow's war."
