Here is the link to last week's show. It is every Wednesday night from 8 to 10pm central time. I will be on the second hour, so that will be at 9pm central time or 7pm pacific standard time.
I am, of course, a little nervous, this being my first time doing a show. But I see this as a normal part of being a blogger. We are willing to stand up and speak, literally. Hey, if Michelle Malkin and Mary Katharine Ham can do all the Fox shows, I can do this, right?
The internet is on FIRE. My blog traffic has doubled, DOUBLED in the last week. Why? I think people are starving for news. Real news, opinions of real people, unabashed personal writing of average Americans. I know I love getting my news from the blogs. Sure I read and listen to commercial outlets, but hearing my blogging friend's take on the news is worth more than all of the paid pundits in the world to me. In fact, I like my friends' writing so much, I often copy/paste from their blogs straight here.
Today I have a conundrum. Too many great pieces. So allow me to point you in the right direction.
Dr. Dave outdid himself again, today, for snark. He wrote an expletive-laced rant in which he advises us to "Kill all the lawyers, pass tort reform, and open the insurance borders."
RightKlik published a video of one of my favorite capitalists. John Mackey is the CEO of Whole Foods Market. He points out that government already spends 50% of the dollars spent on health care. And they heavily regulate the other half. Government intervention has hampered the system to this point. He believes in capitalism, markets and the empowerment of individual choice.
Soloman published two you tube recordings of Glenn Beck's interview of Lord Monckton from today, October 19, 2009. Beck and Monckton discussed Monckton's warning that if Obama signs the treaty of Copenhagen in December, he will cede the sovereignty of Americans. And there is a link to Glenn Beck's transcript of the radio interview, for those who prefer reading to listening.
And my friend, Chupacabra, wrote his weekly Monday's Missives this morning, and he included a link to this sweet, lovely love story. You KNOW I'm a sucker for a love story. So here is the actual video. Just because.
And finally, I would like to present an award for the best post title of the week. More need not be said about this Red State post, the title says it all: "Baucus Bill Will Kill You If Implemented or If Dropped On Your Head"
Speaking of new bloggers, here are some new ones and some not-so-new ones. This group has been together and growing since early this year. Many of these bloggers are my close blogging friends. The newer ones are located near the bottom of the list and we need to check them out and follow their blogs too, because this is how we grow the community of bloggers. We all do it together by welcoming new ones and remembering our old friends. I can't speak highly enough of the ladies at Smart Girl Politics. I am in awe of the spirit and patriotism of this vibrant Ning group. Teri helped me to set up this Blogging Club and has not flagged in her efforts to advocate for conservative ideals. I am including my own blog link in the list to make it easy for anybody who wants to copy/paste this list into a blog post to help promote these wonderful bloggers. And yes, that is a picture of me in my lair.

Hey, while I'm at it, I'd like to send you over to Candle's blog to check out the action. He is kind of in a category all to himself. Definitely Kooky and Funny. The gist is that he is a conservative who pretends to be a whining liberal victim. His humor is razor sharp. And some get taken in by his ruse and hilarious arguments ensue. I, of course, didn't fall for it, he he he. I giggle thinking about hapless libs who will end up there on "Collective Wishes" via a google search, and find their own rhetoric overblown to the point that even THEY want to vomit. Ha ha ha! It is the go-to blog for off-beat humor.
A majority of adults nationwide - 56% - said that if they had to choose just one source for their news information, they would choose the Internet, the poll shows. In a distant second place was television, as 21% said they would prefer that medium over online sources.
Democrats were more likely to favor traditional sources of news than were Republicans. Among Republicans, 56% would prefer the Internet as their lone information source, while 50% of Democrats agreed. But when it came to newspapers, the difference was notable - 17% of Democrats would prefer newspapers as their only news source, while just 5% of Republicans agreed.
This makes sense. More Democrats prefer the liberal state-run media than Republicans. The poll goes on to say that in 1998, the preference for internet news was at 38%, and television news was at 17%. Paper newspapers were at 16%, much higher than today. Gosh, what could have happened to cause Americans to become disillusioned with the nation's newspapers????! Here is the part of the story that I disagree with.
By contrast, the political blogosphere was seen as much less important to most adults across the country. Just 28% said blogs that shared their political point of view were important, and 14% said they felt blogs from the opposite position on the political spectrum were important.
Where was the comparison to 1998 blog preferences? I bet it is MUCH higher now than then. So where does Zogby get the notion that the blogosphere was "much less important to most adults"? Compared to what? Less than other internet sources? That is the only thing I can think of. Because even if you take the average of 28% and 14%, which is 21%, this is still EQUAL to the number of people who prefer television news. THIS IS HUGE. Who would have ever dreamed that citizen journalists, Bloggers, would attain this type of stature so quickly. I see that the influence of the internet, and bloggers, is on the upswing. Look at the Tea Party movement. How did all those people get their information to show up at events? The internet. How are the Iranian protesters getting their information? The internet. Blogs. Twitter. We are growing in number and influence, folks. No doubt about it. Face it. WE ROCK!

I hope the Israeli people know that the American people support them, despite what our leaders say. They need to do what they need to do to keep safe.
I have noticed more and more wonderful conservative blogs popping up on the web lately, or maybe they were there and just now I noticed. Some new, some old. Enjoy them! Here are links and profile notes from them.
Clifton B: I am a black conservative from a black conservative family. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and finally settled in New Jersey. Throughout my life I knew I did not share many of the common beliefs of other American blacks. For starters, I never took to the term African-American. I have meet too many real Africans who are now Americans, to ever with a straight face say we share something in common other than skin tones. Their history and culture is truly a unique and is a completely different experience from my own. My culture is distinctly American, from the way I speak, think, dress and act and you know what else? I love it! So for me, I will always be an American who just happens to be black. I put myself and my beliefs out here in cyberspace, to show my fellow blacks that there is something more. That one need not accept the false promise of the next social program, the belief in government as savior or the next Democratic candidate will right all wrongs. That true Hope and Change comes from belief in yourself, in a nation that allows dynamic movement if you are bold enough, smart enough and brave enough to make it happen.
