URGENT: HELP US WIN IN MASSACHUSETTS

By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN

Published on
DickMorris.com on January 11, 2010

The Republican tide is now so strong that there is even a chance to take away the Kennedy Senate seat in Massachusetts. A January 9th survey by Public Policy Polling has Democrat Martha Coakley and Republican Scott Brown in a dead 48-47 heat. Rasmussen, in an earlier survey, had Coakley only 9 points ahead.

If Brown were to take the seat it would end the Democrats' 60 vote supermajority in the Senate. Health care would probably still pass if the House just accepted the Senate version, but nothing else would. The Obama revolution will be over and he will have to negotiate with Republicans to have his way.

Even if Brown comes close to Coakley, the result will send shivers through the Democratic establishment and trigger more defections, party switches, and retirements. The elections in the People's Republic of Massachusetts could send a signal that, even here, the Republican-conservative tide is strong and sweeping.

The League of American voters is about to unveil an ad to be run in Massachusetts emphasizing the importance of having a system of checks and balances in Washington. The ad says "it's not about party or politics. It's about checks and balances."

Please help us put the ad on the air.
CLICK HERE to donate to help us raise $300,000 for a last minute media buy to push Brown and the Republicans to victory.

We will send you the ad as soon as it is finished (likely tomorrow). With your funds, we can roll back the 60 vote Democratic supermajority and restore some sense of balance to Washington.

The ad draws on the recent tradition in Massachusetts of electing Republican governors to check the excesses of Democrats in the State Legislature. For twenty years, the state has elected one Republican after the other as Governor while returning a solidly Democratic Congressional and Senatorial delegation, top heavy Democratic legislative majorities and a full slate of Democrats for other statewide offices. The idea of checks and balances - of restraining the liberal big spending policies of the Democrats - sells well in Massachusetts.

We may have a rare opportunity here to change the nation's course and we all have to pitch in to make it possible.

This is a full copy/paste of an email to me from Dick Morris. I can't imagine he will mind if I repost in its entirety, considering I am including full links to him. Bottom line is, this is a pivotal point in our battle against Obama and his radical Marxist agenda. The reason the MA senate election feels like a national election is because it is one. And the first order of business is to help this man get elected. Let's do what we can so that we have a prayer of keeping our Republic. You think those words are too strong? I don't. A full-on takeover of 1/6 of the nation's economy, with ALL of us having to answer to the government for our HEALTH, our LIVES and the government reaching into our BANK ACCOUNTS, is not freedom. When majority rule decides what rights we are entitled to, we are no longer protected by the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. Then the Republic is lost.

Support Scott Brown for Senate, Even if You Don't Live in Massachusetts.

Will you look at this man? My goodness. Scott Brown looks like Richard Gere SHOULD have looked in the movie Pretty Woman. Yow! Movie Star good looks. Not that looks are everything. But is it a crime?

More importantly, Scott Brown's race for Teddy Kennedy's Senate seat is our last best hope of defeating the Obamacare takeover of the economy, without resorting to state nullification and/or a court battle regarding constitutionality. Electing him takes away the 60 vote supermajority enjoyed by the Democrats. They will only have 59 votes.

You don't live in Massachusetts? No problem. You can still contribute to his campaign. You can make phone calls for him. You can talk about him on Twitter (@ScottBrownMA) and on your blog. THIS IS THE BATTLE WE NEED TO FIGHT TODAY. ALL OF YOU'ALL WHO TALK ABOUT FIGHTING, HERE IS YOUR CHANCE. SHOW ME WHAT YOU'VE GOT! The special election in January 19th. Today is January 4th. That gives us exactly 14 campaigning days to push this man to victory. Help, help, help!

You can do your part right now. Brown’s campaign site is here. His donation page is here. There’s a grass-roots “moneybomb” fundraiser for Brown on January 11.

Fight the SEIU and Demcare corruption. Help do the job the national GOP fund-raising organizations won’t do. With two weeks until the special election date in Massachusetts, there isn’t a moment to waste.

Reid Lobbying Senators For H C Vote This Weekend--Politico

With an assist from Joe Biden, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid scrambled Wednesday to pull together 60 votes for his health reform bill, awaiting all-important cost estimates in hopes of getting the bill to the floor by the weekend.

At around 2:15 p.m., the three moderate Democratic holdouts - Blanche Lincoln, Mary Landrieu and Ben Nelson - entered Reid's office for a briefing....

As expected, moderates were the focal point. Salazar ate lunch with Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) in the Senate dining room. Lincoln (D-Ark.) hustled into the Senate reception room for a sitdown with Biden, but she emerged without making any public commitments....

Reid said Tuesday that he is "cautiously optimistic" he can secure the 60 votes he needs to move forward on the bill by this weekend. Reid's bill is expected to include a national government insurance plan with a provision for states to opt out. Reid is also expected to adjust a 40 percent excise tax on high-value insurance plans by raising the threshold at which insurers would pay the fee. He's expected to make up for that lost revenue by proposing an expansion of the Medicare payroll tax.

More here.

Now remember, this is the health care bill that nobody has read. It has not been release. It is NOT the Pelosicare bill. I have to tell you it is SO frustrating that something so important and far-reaching for Americans is being subjected to back-room wrangling, lobbying, and possible threats/bribes. Oh, I mean "earmarks" and promises of a Democrat primary challenge if they don't go along. Is this any way to do the business of governing our country? Is this what our founders wanted from the Federal Government? That they would tell us how to live and die? Say it isn't so!

Please contact your senator THIS WEEK. Your life may depend on it.

Hannah Giles Speaks at Reagan Ranch

Hey, I like her, too. I'll admit it. Not just because of her beauty. In fact, there are a lot of physically beautiful people in the world who don't capture my attention. I am enthralled by her bravery and patriotism. For a girl at such a young age to do what she did. Breathtaking. She stepped, virtually unprotected, onto the front lines of our "cold civil war". And came out with a bold victory. Amazing. She points out that there are more corrupt organizations to look at as well, like the Apollo Alliance and SEIU. You GO, girl! Hopefully there are plenty of people willing to help you in your work. i suspect that there are.

Reporting from Santa Barbara - Hannah Giles was in the middle of her guerrilla warfare lecture this weekend at the young conservatives leadership conference when a man in the audience interrupted her.

"We love you!" he cried out. The crowd erupted in applause and whistles.

"Aw," Giles said into the microphone. "I love you guys too."

At age 20, Giles is a rock star of conservative activism. She shot onto the national scene in September after posing as a prostitute at ACORN offices around the country, where she secretly videotaped employees who appeared to give her advice on tax evasion, human smuggling and child prostitution.

Outrage over the recordings led Congress to cut federal funding for the community organizing group.

Giles credits the Young America's Foundation -- the group that put on the conference -- with inspiring much of her political action.

Two years ago, she said, she was just a laid-back surfer kid from Miami when a friend got her to attend a foundation event in Washington, D.C. That, she said, was where she converted to conservatism.

In her lecture Friday about how to take down liberal organizations and expose what she called media corruption, Giles sought to stir others to action. "Above all, attack, attack, attack," she said, quoting Republican consultant Roger Stone. "Never defend."

For her own efforts, she was given the group's Young Student Activist award.

Bill Turner's Impassioned Plea

God Help Us:

My fellow Americans, if you believe in the Constitution, individual liberty, freedom, ownership of firearms, and personal property, along with being able to eat what you want, live how you want, smoke if you desire and make the kind of choices that a free people make, then you will put aside party differences, and stop the health care bill. Aside from bankrupting America and forcing our country to become beholden to the IMF and the United Nations, in order to avoid the kind of social decay that occurs in third world countries, YOU will lose everything, including your right to make choices about how you live your life. Guns, motorcycles, Quads, all too dangerous. The state will tell you what you can do. Obama is already trying to ban sports fishing. This is the week we stand for America, for freedom, for liberty, as a free people. If we fail, God help us all.

Failure this week will not immediately become apparent. You won’t see blue helmeted UN troops on the street corners, you will see the kind of creeping fascism that has been spreading like a cancer across America ever since B. Hussein Obama took office. It will start with little things, like fast food and junk food going away, while taxes drastically increase. They won’t immediately come for our guns, they can’t, to do so, would ignite an armed revolution. But, after they slowly take away all of your decision making, your privileges and rights, they will then come for your guns. Once disarmed, we will become servants of the state.

Pick up a globe. Give it a spin. How many countries do you see with a free people? Just one, America. We stand between the powers that have been building towards a one world government for almost a hundred years and having the lone beacon of freedom be snuffed out, never to return. An unarmed people are targets, and can never safely revolt. We must make a stand now, while we can stop this, without firing a shot. This is the week we march on Congress, protest in the streets, call, write, fax, email, and twitter Congress. This is the week we make this Obama’s Waterloo, or we prepare for the worst. I know many people who are braggadocios and romanticize an armed revolution. For those of you who have never been shot, stabbed, or watched someone die, it is not romantic. It is not the ultimate glory. It is stupidity at its finest. And, just to mess with your head, God help you if you shoot someone, it doesn’t just go away. Unless you are a trained professional, death is haunting.

This is the week we push the envelope. This is the week we go to our senators and representatives offices and demand to see them. If they are not there, tell their office staff to get them on the phone. Get up early, hit the busiest streets and overpasses with signs. Hang sheets off of the overpasses, it is illegal, the cops will come, they will ask you to take them down. Do so. Reporters will show up shortly after that. They love civil disobedience when the cops are called. Remember, this is not a partisan issue, freedom is for everyone, even the idiots who believe that the government should control our lives. These are the people who didn’t get it when Mao, Stalin, and Hitler were discussed in school. We have an obligation to save them too, for it will save us.

My fellow Americans, my fellow patriots and free people of all political persuasions, now is our time to speak up, stand up and be heard. We must break Obama on this issue. Failure will lead to the ugliest of all choices, surrender our freedom and sovereignty, or make a stand and forever change our nation into a police state. I will always stand for freedom, but this is the week for us all to give our all, lest we lose it all. I invite you to stand with me this week. I will take my weak, weary, battle torn body out to my representative and senate offices, I will pound the phones, faxes and emails and if there is to be a protest, I will be there with my brothers and sisters, even if it leads to my death.

I love America and all that it stands for. I will forever honor the men and women who gave their lives so that we can be free to write and say the things I have. But, if we fail, forget free speech. The Second Amendment will be gone and without it, we have none of the others. This is a national emergency for those of us who value and love the country we are in. You can call it a red alert, as the reds are already here and they come for us. Please stand with me this week and give of yourself and your time. Failure to do so will result in your giving of yourself and your time later, when the Statists come for you.

Activism Time Right Now!

Left Coast Rebel has a nice list for congressional Blue Dog emails. It was SO easy to copy and paste and email them all at once.

I am listing email contacts for members of the Blue Dog Caucus in the House that must be pressured to not acquiesce and/or cave on Obamacare. Simply copy and paste this list into the 'Add Bcc'part of your email.
Let's get some good old-fashioned activist-results. Your voice will be heard. No toObamacare in any shape, manner or form. Thank you as well to 9/12er and reader John for sending me this list.
candace.abbey@mail.house.gov,

Additionally, if you are on TWITTER, go to
Sam Adam's blog on ResistNet and start tweeting your fingers to the bone. I made some headway tonight before I got blocked off of Twitter for sending too many at once.

Thoughts on Revolution

I hate to even bring this up. But it is the elephant in the room isn't it. Revolution. Counterrevolution. The Statists are hard at work at it. They labor daily to dismantle the civil society brick by brick. They even state that as their goals. WHAT ARE WE TO DO.

I have good news. Our nation's founders addressed this issue directly. In the Declaration of Independence:

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security....

Mark Levin states in his book, Liberty and Tyranny, "The Founders were very careful to explain that revolution is a last resort compelled only by the imposition of an absolute despotism. No right-thinking Conservative today would encourage overthrowing the United States government, for he does not toil under the iron fist of absolute despotism, even though the Conservative is alarmed at the Statist's growing success in substituting arbitrary state power for ordered liberty."

Don't forget what Tom McClintock said in Fresno on October 24, 2009. "We are locked in a battle over control of our nation with what can only be described as the lunatic fringe. If this is allowed to pass it will be the biggest mistake since Hoover messed up to cause the Great Depression. Something is stirring across America today...and that is the American Spirit. What can WE do. Agitate, agitate, agitate. Stand up and speak out every chance you get, in person and online.
The Obama left might have super majorities, but they have lost the American People. Your voices have made a difference. If you keep doing what you are doing every day, you WILL HAVE SAVED OUR COUNTRY."

Stay engaged. Recruit volunteers for good local candidates. Recruit bloggers. Learn about Twitter. Write to your representatives. Schedule in-person meetings with your representatives and go to their office armed with facts. 2010 is a lot closer than it used to be. Hang in there.

Stop the ObamaScare Stealth Bill

On Tuesday the Senate Finance Committee passed the Baucus Health Care Bill to go to the Senate Floor. The Senate and House will work on merging their bills to produce a final bill to go to Obama for a final signature and approval enacting the bill into law. Word from the Hill is that this final bill would be approved prior to the Christmas break....at least that is the desire of Pelosi, Reid and Obama.

To date we have focused our ROCFEST on calls, emails, and faxes. We will continue our Virtual Tea Party on Thursdays, however, in addition we are encouraging you to organize a OCTOBER ROCFEST Tea Party to converge on the local Senate offices in your state. Most Senators have multiple offices, so essentially this could occur at every office in the state for both of your Senators.

Add your ROCFEST TEA PARTY to the Events Tab:

Make sure you add your event to your State and District Groups, Facebook, Twitter, WordPress, My Space, email contacts in your area, and all of your social networks! This needs to go viral!

The Most Important Event in our Nation's History

The signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787, by our Founding Fathers is the singular most important and influential event in American history, establishing the many rights and freedoms “We the People” enjoy still today.

Sadly, that same Constitution is assaulted daily by elected officials—many of whom know little as to what it says. In fact, much of the current legislation on the floor at the House and Senate is a direct violation to these unalienable rights granted to us by God and carried out by our Founding Fathers!

In Honor of our Constitution, we launched our Virtual Tea Party to Restore our Constitution, or ROCFEST! and now We are taking it to the streets a Tea Party ROCFEST at Every Senate Office!

ROCFEST asks concerned Americans to make phone calls, fax, write, and email their elected lawmakers (and breakers) in both their D.C. and District offices EVERY THURSDAY starting today (9/17) through the Fall season.

Susan in Glendale, CA speaks out

Susan is a former attorney, mother of 7. Her impassioned soliloquy is worth listening to. She is a conservative who articulates being overwhelmed by current events. The idea evolved into taking back the Republican Party. True Conservatives, Constitutional Conservatives, must take back the Republican Party. Hey, if the commies can take over the Dems, it's gotta be possible. Call Harry Reid, call Stan Hawyer. Call Dems who are worried about re election. She is upset because the senate may attach the "public option" onto a bill about taxing bonuses. This would be done with 51 votes in the Senate. This means the legislators are scheming against the American People. The American People are the enemy of the Democrat Party.

Steps to take on the August break

It is August recess, and time to get busy contacting our representatives to tell then how we feel about the government takeover of health care. Here are some things we need to do:

Organize a group and visit the offices of your Senators and Representatives, Ask them these questions. Most Senators and Representatives have Townhall meetings in their district during their August break. Get the schedule and attend the meetings. Urge others to do the same. Have different groups at different locations to ask these questions to make sure the Congressman is consistent.

Yesterday, Barak Obama conceded there probably will be no vote on healthcare reform until "the end of September or the middle of October." WE have August to attend town hall meetings with our representative and senators, to stop by their congressional offices, to write letters to the editor and to educate friends and family members about the dangers of socialized medicine.

To help you in that effort, here is a short list of key concerns and questions. Please share this report with like-minded folks and those who may be undecided and willing to listen.

1. ABORTION
Pro-choice groups, like NARAL and Planned Parenthood, are demanding that abortion be covered in any healthcare reform bill. In a recent interview with Politico, Laurie Rubiner, vice president for public policy and advocacy at Planned Parenthood, defends this demand by saying, "the alternative would be slashing benefits for millions of women who currently have [private] coverage for abortions..." In addition, key administration officials refuse to rule out abortion coverage. When asked on Fox News Sunday whether taxpayer money would go to pay for abortions, White House Budget Director Peter Orszag replied, "I am not prepared to say explicitly that right now. It's obviously a controversial issue, and it's one of the questions that is playing out in this debate."

Pro-life senators on the Senate's Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee forced a roll call vote on the issue when Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) attempted to add an amendment to the healthcare bill that would, in her words, "include women's health clinics that provide comprehensive services...deemed medically necessary or appropriate." She admitted that such "health clinics" would include Planned Parenthood. The pro-life amendment to prohibit funding of abortion lost 11-to-12.

Question for your Congressmen: Will you oppose any healthcare reform bill that uses my tax dollars to pay for abortions?

2. EUTHANASIA
In a recent New York Post column, Betsy McCaughey, a former lieutenant governor of New York and health care expert, wrote:

"One troubling provision of the House bill compels seniors to submit to a counseling session every five years (and more often if they become sick or go into a nursing home) about alternatives for end-of-life care (House bill, p. 425-430). The sessions cover highly sensitive matters such as whether to receive antibiotics and 'the use of artificially administered nutrition and hydration.' This mandate invites abuse, and seniors could easily be pushed to refuse care."

Question for your Congressmen: Will you oppose any healthcare reform bill that in any way promotes euthanasia?

3. COST
The United States faces a debt crisis. According to many analysts, including Senator Judd Gregg (who is so respected by President Obama that he offered Gregg the post of Secretary of Commerce), the Obama budget will give us $11 trillion of debt at the end of five years and $17 trillion of debt at the end of ten years. (Source: PolitiFact.com)

Question for your Congressmen: Why is Congress and the president pushing through a healthcare bill that would cost another trillion dollars over the next ten years? Shouldn't we concentrate on getting the debt under control?

4. RATIONING CARE
In a July 15th report written by 'The Hill', "The House bill would be paid for by roughly $500 billion in Medicare and Medicaid cuts..." These "cuts" would come as millions of Americans are retiring. If we are "cutting" hundreds of billions of dollars, then healthcare would have to be limited or rationed in someway to accommodate more people. Seniors would be most affected by Medicare cuts.

Advisors to Obama, such as Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, have suggested that healthcare should be rationed to certain individuals. Dr. Emanuel wrote that "services provided to individuals who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens...should not be guaranteed. An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia."  Source:http://www.ncpa.org/pdfs/Where_Civic_Republicanism_and_Deliberative_Democracy_Meet.pdf

Question for your Congressmen: How can government promise to do more with less? Will you oppose any healthcare reform bill that in any way limits my access to healthcare or medicines recommended by my doctor?

5. MORE BURDENS ON SMALL BUSINESSES
Despite a 9.5% (and rising) unemployment rate, the healthcare bill in the House imposes a new 8% payroll tax on small businesses with payrolls of $400,000 or more that don't provide health insurance for their employees. This is in addition to the current 15% payroll tax. Any employer with a payroll of $400,000 dollars or higher will have to pay at least 25% above the salary just to hire someone.  Struggling small business will likely lay off workers to avoid this additional tax. On the other hand, if the tax is cheaper than the cost of health insurance, larger businesses may opt to cancel their health insurance, forcing employees into the government’s "public option," and simply pay the 8% fine. (Source: Wall Street Journal, July 15, 2009)

Question for your Congressmen: Why are you imposing additional mandates and taxes on small businesses, which create the overwhelming majority of new jobs, in the middle of a severe recession?

6. QUALITY CARE
American healthcare is better than that in European countries with socialized medicine. The German breast cancer mortality rate is 52% higher than in the United States. Prostate cancer mortality is 604% higher in the United Kingdom and 457% higher in Norwaythan in the United States. Canadian healthcare lags behind the United States too. Canadian patients wait twice as long to see a specialist for hip surgery or cancer than we do in the United States. Most Americans say they are satisfied with the U.S. health care system, but more than 70% of Germans, Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders and Britons say that their systems need "fundamental change" or "complete rebuilding." (Source: National Center for Policy Analysis.)

In an editorial on July 26th, the Washington Post criticized Barak Obama for not "leveling about the consequences of change" when it comes to healthcare costs versus quality. Here's what the Post wrote: "The Congressional Budget Office estimates that new technology accounts for about half the increase in health-care costs over the past several decades. This, for the most part, is a good thing. Adjusted for inflation, health-care spending per person is six times what it was 40 years ago. But no one today would settle for 1960s-style medicine."

Question for your Congressmen: Why are you trying to force us in the direction of more government involvement in healthcare when everywhere government-run healthcare has been tried, quality declines and care is rationed?

7. THE PEOPLE ARE BEING IGNORED
According to a recent poll, 23% of voters believe healthcare reform legislation will lower costs, while 53% believe it will lead to more expensive care. By a margin of 50% to 23%, voters believe that "reform" legislation will make the quality of care decline. And while voters believe they will get worse care at higher costs, 78% also believe that healthcare reform will result in middle class tax hikes. In addition, a recent Fox News poll found that 91% of those surveyed have health insurance, 84% said that the quality of their health insurance was either excellent or good and 83% said the quality of health care they receive from their private insurance is either good or excellent. And only 12% of those surveyed said reforming health care was the most important issue Congress should be working on right now. (Source: Rasmussen Reports, July 28, 2009 and Fox News poll July 23, 2009.)

Question for your Congressmen: Why are you and the White House rushing this bill through Congress and ignoring the concerns of the American people?

8. LOSS OF FREEDOM
The healthcare reform legislation under consideration in the House will eventually force all Americans into a government-approved plan. After a five-year grace period, every new insurance policy will have to comply with government mandates, and any policy changes – "altering co-pays, deductibles, or even switching coverage for this or that drug" – invalidates your previous coverage and forces you to choose a government "qualified" plan. In addition, the House plan mandates coverage for every individual. If you are self-employed or choose not buy insurance for whatever reason, the bill imposes a "healthcare tax" of 2.5% of your income. (Source: CNNMoney.com, July 24, 2009 and Bloomberg.com, July 15, 2009)

Question for your Congressmen: Why do you believe bureaucrats can make better decisions than me about what kind of health insurance I should have? And will you guarantee that any healthcare reform bill passed by Congress will always allow me to choose my own doctor?

9. RACIAL PREFERENCES
Do you care about the race of a doctor who is getting ready to operate on you? Of course not. Most Americans want their doctor to be the best professional available regardless of race or ethnic background. But congressional liberals have a different idea. On page 909 of the House bill, grants to medical schools will be awarded "to entities that have a demonstrated record of the following...training individuals who are from underrepresented minority groups or disadvantaged backgrounds." Question for your Congressmen: Why are you throwing affirmative action/racial set asides into a healthcare reform bill?

10. PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS
Barak Obama has repeatedly said that "no insurance company will be allowed to deny you coverage because of a pre-existing medical condition." That sounds wonderful until you apply common sense, which is in short supply in Washington. What if we made a law that allowed you to buy car insurance after you got into an accident and that required the insurance company to pay for the damage? Wouldn’t many people just wait for an accident before buying insurance? Why wouldn’t many Americans wait until they were sick to buy health insurance?

Question for your Congressmen: Isn't it clear that this provision would drive up the cost of health insurance for everyone?
