Thoughts on Revolution

I hate to even bring this up. But it is the elephant in the room isn't it. Revolution. Counterrevolution. The Statists are hard at work at it. They labor daily to dismantle the civil society brick by brick. They even state that as their goals. WHAT ARE WE TO DO.

I have good news. Our nation's founders addressed this issue directly. In the Declaration of Independence:

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security....

Mark Levin states in his book, Liberty and Tyranny, "The Founders were very careful to explain that revolution is a last resort compelled only by the imposition of an absolute despotism. No right-thinking Conservative today would encourage overthrowing the United States government, for he does not toil under the iron fist of absolute despotism, even though the Conservative is alarmed at the Statist's growing success in substituting arbitrary state power for ordered liberty."

Don't forget what Tom McClintock said in Fresno on October 24, 2009. "We are locked in a battle over control of our nation with what can only be described as the lunatic fringe. If this is allowed to pass it will be the biggest mistake since Hoover messed up to cause the Great Depression. Something is stirring across America today...and that is the American Spirit. What can WE do. Agitate, agitate, agitate. Stand up and speak out every chance you get, in person and online.
The Obama left might have super majorities, but they have lost the American People. Your voices have made a difference. If you keep doing what you are doing every day, you WILL HAVE SAVED OUR COUNTRY."

Stay engaged. Recruit volunteers for good local candidates. Recruit bloggers. Learn about Twitter. Write to your representatives. Schedule in-person meetings with your representatives and go to their office armed with facts. 2010 is a lot closer than it used to be. Hang in there.
