Barack Obama's ADD: American Thinker

Selwyn Duke hits this one out of the park. This is the last portion of the article, and quite a cutting rant.
So perhaps Obama isn't just our first "black" president but also our first ADD president. At least, that's what the idea that he could carry on a deep, 20-year relationship with Wrong and not know of the man's vile views -- and not share them to some degree -- suggests. Of course, there is another possibility:

Barack Obama is a liar.

Barack Obama is a radical, a demagogue and a clear and present danger to these United States.

Perhaps the Americans who voted for Obama need to consider that he not only is one of Wrong's fellow travelers (the title of Obama's second book, The Audacity of Hope, came from one of Wrong's sermons) but, just as damnably, only threw him under the bus when Wrong became a political liability; that Obama apologizes because he -- and his wife, who said that she never had been proud of America as an adult -- are consumed with the typical left-wing hatred of the U.S.; that he spends trillions we don't have because he's an out-of-touch fool or, worse still, wants to collapse the free-market system; that he instituted an unconstitutional health-care plan because the nationalization of healthcare is a tenet of communism; that he allows the Gulf's ecosystem to be damaged in deference to unions or, worse still, because he wants to provide impetus for his cap-and-tax scheme; and that he wants our nation flooded with unassimilable foreigners because he knows that such people, once naturalized, will vote for him and his fellow leftists to the tune of 90 percent.

In 2008, Barack Obama (I'll clean this figure of speech up a bit) spit down Americans' backs and told them it was rainin', and 53 percent of us believed him. Many of us still do. But it's time to grow up and wise up -- because our time is almost up. That deluge of national destruction running down your back is not some unexplainable natural phenomenon. It is the effluent that naturally flows when you elect Marxists, malcontents and miscreants to office.
When will this nightmare end?

I Have a Sick Feeling About The Second Amendment

Only 5 of 9 supreme court justices supported American's right to keep and bear arms. And Obama is about to appoint ANOTHER justice after only 18 months in office? Is anybody else getting a bad feeling about this?

Interesting. I never knew the Chicago case was challenged by a black man wanting to protect himself from drug gangs and dealers in his neighborhood. The news forgot to report that side of the story.
And I challenge Mayor Daley's facts. In Switzerland, every home has a firearm. There was ONE murder last year. Disarming the good guys is not helpful.

Limericks About Obama

I have always been inappropriately amused by limericks. In my senior year of high school we made up a number of them on the long bus ride for our senior trip to Baja. This is an excellent collection:

Will We Have The Discipline To Reverse Unconstitutional Legislation After November?

We have a lot of work ahead of us getting this country back to its Constitutional roots.   After we elect Conservative representatives in upcoming elections, many pieces of Obama legislation, such as Obamacare, must be repealed. Obama's unlawful seizure of private property, as with the automobile companies, must be set right. But we must discipline ourselves to look at ALL unconstitutional legislation, not just that put forward by Democrats. I'm thinking of the Patriot Act. Any portions of that act that permit search and seizure without warrant are unconstitutional and should be abolished. Including electronic searches. The founding fathers wrote about papers and effects. They corresponded using paper and nowadays we correspond electronically. That does not mean we give up our rights to be safe from unreasonable search and seizure.

Power, once gained, is seldom voluntarily relinquished. Liberal voters expected Obama to overturn the Patriot Act. They are surprised and disappointed that he has not. Historians are not surprised at all. And as the Obama administration seeks to label Tea Party patriots domestic terrorists as Janet Napolitano did last year in her outrageous DHS memo, we feel the dirt of Obama's boot on our necks.

If we are able to gain a vast electoral victory in November and in 2012, should we then sit on our laurels? Should we breathe easy and go back to watching reality TV? Should we feel OK because it is "our guy" in the White House and he is targeting those "other guys" over there, not us?

I say NO. "The only way to promote the good of the community is to unerringly protect the rights of the individual." M. Badnarik. Ayn Rand also touted the rights of the individual. Seizure of private property, I hope everyone will agree, is unconstitutional. But anti-terrorist legislation, particularly in a post-9/11 world, is a topic that we are not all in agreement on. But to me it is like protecting the right of free speech for communists, or anybody else you don't agree with. I disagree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it. I want an easy way to find/investigate/lock up terrorists, but I want to defend and protect the Constitution of the United States of America. We must protect ourselves while protecting our laws. Without our laws, we are naked against tyranny. Be it tyranny of the majority (democracy) or tyranny of a president, we either defend our law or stand defenseless.

I am sick about this. It is just awful. They scraped the oil off of this juvenile female while her podmates squealed in the distance. She died in transport. :-(

"It Is Literally Raining Oil"-Time To Evacuate The Gulf?

Oh, my. This looks bad. Apparently oil is mixing with rain due to the dispersant. It disperses the oil in small particles that evaporate up into the clouds. Gosh, we don't even need to wait for a hurricane to devastate the gulf. The rain/chemical process is doing the job. I cry for our country. :-(
My heart goes out to all affected by this tragedy.
A looming environmental and population displacement disaster is brewing in the Gulf. The oil dispersant used by BP, Corexit 9500, is seen by FEMA sources as mixing with evaporated water from the Gulf and absorbed by rain clouds producing toxic precipitation that threatens to continue killling marine and land animals, plant life, and humans within a 200-mile radius of the Deepwater Horizon disaster site in the Gulf....
Plans are being put in place for the mandatory evacuation of New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Mandeville, Hammond, Houma, Belle Chase, Chalmette, Slidell, Biloxi, Gulfport, Pensacola, Hattiesburg, Mobile, Bay Minette, Fort Walton Beach, Panama City, Crestview, and Pascagoula.
The toxic rain from the Gulf is expected to poison fresh water reservoirs and lakes, streams, and rivers, which will also have a disastrous impact on agriculture and livestock, as well as drinking water, in the affected region.

Um, About That Boycott...Los Angeles Spends 2.3 Mil on Arizona Red Light Cameras

Arizona, be warned:
The city of Los Angeles is boycotting
your state's businesses - when convenient.

City officials talked tough when in early May they approved the boycott over the Grand Canyon State's passage of SB 1070, which gives Arizona law enforcement the authority to check the immigration status of people they stop for other offenses if they suspect they are in the country illegally. "I thought I would only need to carry a passport in a foreign country. I guess Arizona is a foreign country now," Councilman Richard Alarcon said then.

But the council backpedaled Wednesday, when members voted unanimously to make an exception for its contract with the Arizona-based company that operates Los Angeles' red-light cameras, citing the importance of the cameras to public safety. (The Police Department has credited them with reducing traffic fatalities.) "The boycott never intended to impede public safety," Alarcon said Wednesday. "It intended to, if anything, send forth a message to Arizona, but not to the negative impact of the people of Los Angeles."
I love it when a horrible plan falls apart!

More Obama Extortion: Border Patrol Charged Millions to Pay For "Habitat Damage"

Not only is Obama refusing to provide for the common defense of our borders. But he is also working AGAINST the border patrol that we already do have in place. Here he goes after our besieged border patrol with a Chicago-style pay-to-play shakedown. Why am I not surprised.
Republican lawmakers are calling on the Interior Department to stop charging what they describe as "extortion" money from the Border Patrol -- millions of under-the-radar dollars meant to cover environmental damage stemming from their everyday duties along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The Department of Homeland Security, which houses the Border Patrol, last year signed a deal with Interior -- the administrator of America's parklands -- to cough up $50 million for environmental "mitigation" needed in the wake of the construction of a border fence. That was after DHS had already spent or committed millions more for expected environmental damage caused by the Border Patrol over the years.

Though both the departments of Homeland Security and Interior say the money goes toward preserving and restoring sensitive habitats, Republicans say the arrangement doesn't make sense.

The Border Patrol needs that money to address the weighty task of securing the border, they say, arguing that agents are actually helping conserve the environment by keeping out smugglers and immigration violators who have no regard for America's natural resources.

They note that the transactions are conducted with little congressional oversight, and the Border Patrol has privately described the routine negotiations as a "constant headache."

"It was a pay-to-play type of scheme," a Republican aide on the House Natural Resources Committee said of the millions Homeland Security has spent to date.

Rep. Rob Bishop, R-Utah, said the kicker in the multimillion-dollar tradeoff is that the money doesn't even guarantee the Border Patrol open access to the land. Agents still have to follow particular rules to drive into wilderness areas to pursue suspects or set up routine patrols.

"That conflict has got to be resolved," he said. "If the Border Patrol was allowed to have free access to patrol the borders at will ... it would have the same effect that they're doing in other areas."

Bishop in March called on Interior Secretary Ken Salazar to stop "extorting" the money from Homeland Security. "Money appropriated for border security should only be spent on making our borders more secure, and not diverted to unrelated DOI spending projects," he said in a statement at the time. According to Bishop's office, Salazar has not responded.

Oil Fields in Los Angeles-Crafty Disguises

Interesting. I heard there were some illnesses with students at Beverly Hills High School that may have had something to do with the oil.  More to the point is the Los Angeles' population's complete ignorance on the subject.  But hey, if something goes wrong, you at least don't have to launch a space shuttle mission to go and fix it.  I mean really.  The bottom of the seas is mostly still off limits for us.  We have no business mucking around down there if we can't handle it when things go wrong.  Hey, if Angelenos don't know there is an oil derrick, how are the Alaskan caribou going to find out.

Hi Dad,

These are some of the photographs given to me by Aunt M's family in Missouri after she passed away in April. The upper right photo looks exactly like my oldest boy (19 now). And I see quite a resemblance between you and your father (far left). As you know, looking for shared family traits is my favorite sport.

Warm Father's Day wishes to you across the miles. Thanks for being so kind all these years. Never a harsh word. Sometimes it takes us a while to appreciate these things. I want you to know that I do.

Is It OK For Our Government To Violate The Constitution?

Michael Badnarik, former libertarian candidate for president, teaches about the Constitution. This talk is similar to the one I attended today. How can we defend the Constitution if we do not understand it. We must educate ourselves! This video is a great place to start. Badnarik is available to give a Constitution Class near you. All you need is 20 to 30 people to commit to take the class and he will get on a plane from Dallas. I heard about his class through local Oathkeepers. It was excellent!

Santa Ana, CA ICE Raids Put Damper on Illegal Participation In Census

Working with local community and faith-based groups, the Census Bureau has hired local outreach officers to market the census to their own communities in the native languages.
That effort appears to have made headway among minority and immigrant communities, but continues to be hampered by federal immigration enforcement.
"As a Spanish bilingual the biggest challenge was the raids," said Beatriz Fernandez, who conducted outreach efforts in Santa Ana. "People would ask, 'Are you giving our information to Homeland Security? Is someone going to come knock on our door if I give you my information?'"
ICE's latest raid in Santa Ana came last Sunday, according to Fernandez, further fueling fears that arrests would continue and heightening suspicion toward the federal government.
This is interesting. I had an idea that a number of illegal aliens fleeing the Arizona law have come to southern California, based on my experience at local parks. They are full to bursting on the weekends. And you need to habla espanol to fit in. The OC Register story went on to say that Democrat administrations feel the need to put up a show of enforcement because they are viewed as being soft on illegal immigration. And there was money allocated to ICE, which now feels the need to "fill beds".

Funny. I don't hear Mexico apologizing for enforcing their immigration laws.

Help Make A List Of Obama's Impeachable Offenses

Does everybody know about Fuzzy Slippers? She is one of the finest small blog writers on the internet, as far as I'm concerned. And she inspired me again this morning. I, like her, could not stomach watching Obama's speech last night. She caught it later on video, and I did not. She gave an excellent play-by-play. And one part touches on something that reminds me of a pet peeve of mine.

Impeachable offenses. That's right, I said it. Let's make a nice list, so the new congress elected in November will have an easier time getting started.

Seizure of private industry. Can somebody tell me where in the U.S. Constitution the government is authorized to seize private industry? The auto companies were not only taken lawlessly, but the company stocks were forcibly taken from preferred stockholders and given to Obama's cronies in the unions.  Is this America? How can this stand. Obama and his henchmen should be in jail for theft.

Add to that the takeover of the banks. How is it OK for Obama to force a bailout on healthy banks, then use this as an excuse to dictate business practices? Where in the Constitution is this activity authorized?

Do we even have a Constitution anymore? Or is it just a museum piece? Our forefathers and Oathkeepers fought and died for it. For our freedom.  Freedom from tyrannical government.

And now some Americans talk of taking over British Petroleum. Can anyone explain to me how an American president would go about taking over a British company? How is this even feasible? Or would it involve seizing American assets? How is this legal? Or even wise given the current situation? We need BP to help stop the gusher, clean up the mess and compensate damaged Americans. How would a government takeover help? It would put Americans on the hook for all of that. This can only make sense to a dedicated Marxist.

The Sestak affair may prove to be Obama's undoing. But impeaching Obama based on bribery will be like putting Al Capone in jail for tax evasion. Effective, but misses his more gross violations.

Either way, concrete regulations need to be put in place where any candidate for president needs to submit proof that he is a natural born citizen. Even incumbent candidates. Ha. That will fix Obama's little red wagon....

Paypal Offers To Reinstate Geller-She Refuses

Bravo, Pamela. You are a role model for us all.

Paypal cried "Uncle" today, asking Pamela Geller if she would please reinstate their button on her Atlas Shrugs blog and other websites. Geller declined, and asked some questions about Paypal's policies and oversight. Geller is particularly concerned about censorship of smaller blogs.

And, of course, the Muslims of CAIR had been dancing in the streets.

Paypal has no answer why it continues to work with Imam Al Awlaki, the Imam who launched many terrorists against the U.S., including 9/11, Nidal Hassan, Times Square bomber, Christmas Day Underwear bomber, among others.

Pamela Geller is now working with GPal, a site that is more tolerant. She says the "G" stands for guns. I wonder if the Soldier's Angels that The Kid mentioned have found GPal. GPal would be ideal for them.

PayPal Targets Atlas Shrugs As A Hate Site

I'm really bothered by what happened to Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs yesterday. Did you know that Paypal told her to stop using their service on her websites? That they claim she promotes "hate speech"? I beg to differ. She publishes the hate speech of bad guys, radicals and Islamofascists so that people can be educated about what these groups really stand for.

Worse yet, Geller had the temerity to use her Paypal donations to fund a bus ad campaign in New York City that was WAY too successful. "FATWA on your head?" I love that! She gave disenchanted muslims a way to contact people for help if they wanted to leave the religion without being MURDERED. What is hateful about providing shelter to those undergoing religious persecution? And she was asked the question several times about how she was paying for the ads, and answered "Paypal". This smacks of the same kind of censorship I suffered when BlogHer pulled their ad from my site based on a post about Islam.

Thank goodness we still have free speech in America. That Paypal wants to punish Geller for hers makes me think less of them. Geller is still accepting donations via checks in the mail. I think her bus ads are a great idea and worthy of support.

My Daughter Graduates This Weekend-An Open Letter To Her

My daughter graduates this weekend. From UCLA.

Dear Sweet Pea,

I'm so proud of you. Words will never be able to express the depth of my feelings of love and pride and happiness at seeing the kind of young woman you have grown into. You have always been an amazing person and you continue to amaze me. You have been a self-starter since elementary school. The kind of kid who makes everybody around you look good, by virtue of your competence and reliability. You still make your dad and I look like great parents, basking in your glow.

Life is fragile and I appreciate all of the time we have together. Every moment is a treasure. You have always been a jewel in my life. A kindred spirit, sharing the same, secret wavelength. We even laugh at the same silly jokes. I love sharing those moments with you.

And I admire you for your independence. To be able to graduate and have a job and apartment lined up already is every parent's dream of success for their child. Especially in these tough economic times, it is a feat approaching miraculous. But I know all of this is the result of long years of hard work and dedication. These things don't happen by accident. Even if you do manage to make it look easy.

My best wish for you is that you continue to have a life warmed by the love of friends and family, as you do today. You have absorbed the best lessons of your upbringing and improved the mix through your experience. I learn from you now. Thank you for being a great daughter. I could never have asked for a better one.

Love,

Mom

I Spoke at Today's Anaheim Tea Party, Pic by OC Register

It was so fun to meet the Twitter group again today, at the pre-primary political rally hosted by Rick Amato. I was planning on simply attending. I was surprised when Rick invited the entire Twitter group up onstage, introduced us so graciously and gave us each a turn at the microphone. How very kind. And even more shocking is to look at the O.C. Register story on the tea party and see the picture running with the story has the short moment when I spoke. All I said was, "I believe in the rule of law. We live in a Constitutional Republic, and we need to adhere to the Constitution." And I mentioned my blog and twitter addresses. There were so many more accomplished speakers than I. I really don't deserve this. But it is fun, and my 19-year-old boy was impressed for about 10 seconds.
SONYA SMITH, THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER
ANAHEIM – About 60 Tea Party activists rallied together Sunday evening to stir up enthusiasm ahead of the Tuesday primary election.
Supporters of the Tea Party movement wore red, silver and blue star necklaces, waved American flags and cheered along speakers in the parking lot of a construction site on La Palma Avenue near Imperial Highway.
A series of speakers lined up for the event that was emceed by conservative radio talk show host, Rick Amato. Speakers included Shari Freidenrich, candidate for Orange County Treasurer; Walter Myers III, a Conservative leader who blogs at scientiamedia.com ; Bill Hunt , candidate for Orange County Sheriff; and Phil Liberatore, candidate for the Republican ballot in the 42nd Congressional District.
In this picture from left to right are @mikepfs (kind of cut off), @briantomkins, @kamaainainoc, @opus_6 (me), the 2 "blondes against Obama", @amatotalk (Rick Amato in front) and @kmhappel. Bill Hunt came over to speak with me right after I got off the stage, and I told him I would vote for him for Sheriff. He said he agreed with me about the rule of law and the Constitution. We need more real conservatives in government. Especially in top law enforcement positions. Then I had to run home quickly, because, as you know, a mother's work is never done. :-)

FTC Wants to Tax Computers To Support Failed Newspapers

Is this another bailout? Is the Obama Administration legislating again? Somebody stop this!
A 47-page document that outlines a major government push to rescue the country's flailing media platforms -- specifically newspapers, which have seen advertising revenues drop roughly 45 percent since 2000.

Among the numerous proposals mentioned in the document are:

-- the creation of a "journalism" division of AmeriCorps, the federal program that places 75,000 people with local and national nonprofit groups annually;

-- tax credits to news organizations for every journalist employed;

-- establishing citizenship news vouchers, which "would allow every American tax payer to allocate some amount of government funds to the non-profit media organization" of their choice;

-- increased funding for public radio and television;

-- providing grants to universities to conduct investigative journalism;

-- increased postal subsidies for newspapers and periodicals;

-- a 5 percent tax on consumer electronics, which would generate roughly $4 billion annually, to pay for increased public funding.

But some critics are voicing concerns about the draft document, saying that if the government has any influence over the Fourth Estate, it could lead to a dizzying web of conflicting interests and the eradication of independent journalism.

Joran Van Der Sloot Arrested In Santiago, Chile

I watched an infuriating CNN interview where Van Der Sloot's ex New York lawyer defends him and the "coincidence" of all this. Joran Van Der Sloot Kills on the 5th Anniversary of Natalee Holloway's Disappearance

Stephany Flores, the 21 year old daughter of a Peruvian businessman was found dead in a bloody hotel room in Lima.
The connection: Joran van der Sloot, a suspect twice arrested but never charged in Natalee's disappearance is now the prime suspect in Stephany's death.
Peruvian authorities say van der Sloot, a 22 year old Dutch citizen, was in Lima for a poker tournament.
A hotel worker allegedly saw him and Flores go into his room, a few hours before Flores was found dead.
Van der Sloot has crossed the border by bus into Chile.

This saddens me. Another young beauty cut down in the prime of her life. Found dead in a bloody hotel room? I can only imagine the horror of her final moments. Van Der Sloot must be a sociopath. He surely does not feel for his victims. Is he turning into a Ted Bundy-like serial killer? I hope he is caught soon.

Raw Video of Sinkhole; Guatemala Hurricane Aftermath

This sinkhole is apparently 30 meters wide and 60 meters deep, although in the photos I have seen it looks bottomless. One man died when the 3-story building was swallowed by the earth. Over 100 people died as a result of this storm. The sinkhole is blamed on poor drainage. I guess that is an understatement.
