Actress Jane Russell, star of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (video) died at 89 in California. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her children.

Ms. Russell was such a huge advocate for children that the family has requested these two organizations. During her film careen she founded Women's Adoption International Fund known around the world as WAIF. She is responsible for placing over 40,000 hard to place children in permanent homes.

Obama, stop misrepresenting state governors

Obama says that public employees should not be "vilified". Hmph. I have been paying close attention and the governors are not vilifying anyone. They want to balance their budgets and rein in the power of the public employees unions. If anything, the union members are being praised for working out such an amazingly good deal for themselves at the expense of taxpayers and for getting away with it for so long.

But time has come to pay the piper.

Obama has yet to point out that federal union employees are not allowed to collectively bargain, either. So maybe presidents in glass houses should keep their thoughts to themselves.

Mike Tobin was doing a live report on the events in the Wisconsin capitol and the protesters were chanting “Fox News lies!” They shoved him, tried to cover his camera lens, and then one of them hit him twice. There’s no video available yet, as it just happened a little while ago, but Tobin confirmed he was hit on Twitter.

Kanye complains abortion mommy bribes can cost up to 100K

I think what he means by "ballin'" is his basketball-playing friends. "STRAPUP" apparently means to wear a condom during sex. So he is advising his athlete friends to wear condoms during sex so they don't need to pay expensive abortion bribes after the girls get pregnant.

Huh. Maybe he should advise these ball players to date only girls from New York, where the African American abortion rate is 60%.  No wait.  Better hope they didn't see the new pro-life billboards.  They might get a conscience.

Finally! The battle is ON!

As a member of the Tea Party, I have waited and waited and waited for the opportunity to have reps representing me in Washington and in the state governments. 2009 was a nightmare when the Democrats had supermajorities in Washington. We marched and the politicians laughed in our faces.

November 2010 brought relief and now the battle is joined. Dems and union reps, sorry. Or should I say, "Sowwy, Chawlie!" You had your day. You showed who you are. You organized and beat up grandma and grandpa at August 2009 townhalls when the American People marched against Obamacare. Remember that? The health care deal that was so wonderful that you decided to claim exemptions and waivers from it for yourselves, but it was fine for the rest of Americans? You showed who you are in California when your teacher's union donated a MILLION DOLLARS to campaign for gay marriage against prop 8. What on Earth does prop 8 have to do with the California teachers union! Just yesterday Dems urged unions to "get a little bloody". Is that the new civility? You should be ashamed!

So forgive me if I look with satisfaction at Governor Scott Walker's determination to strip you of your unfettered access to the government teat. Leaders from 50 Tea Party groups likewise pledge their support to Gov. Scott Walker. We believe that your salaries and benefits need to be brought into line with the private sector. Your collective bargaining power makes it almost impossible to control costs of benefits. You are parasites that are killing the host and We The People are saying ENOUGH!

Indiana has moved legislation limiting union fees. Democrat lawmakers again fled across state lines.

Arizona is passing more rules aimed at protecting their state from parasitic illegals. They even took away the anchor baby rules. Yay. No more 9-month-pregnant Mexican women waddling across the border.

America will be a better place some day, I hope. We can be more competitive when we don't have to pay inflated salaries to union thugs. Then maybe some of our businesses and jobs will come back. Is that so hard to understand? Business is not our enemy. Business is our employer. You and your leftist friends need to stop ruining the economy for the rest of us. Obama's spending spree only deepened the recession into a depression. We will come out of it, but only after gaining control of SPENDING. We must live within our means. That means no more deficit spending. That means budget cuts. DEEP cuts. Get used to it.

Obamaverse: Coptics and Libyans under fire, muslims eye USA

Coptic Egyptian Christians were strongly urged to bow in islamic prayer with muslims during a rally last Friday in Tahrir Square. Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, led Friday prayers.

A Coptic Christian at the event told WND the request was intimidating.
"Whether he meant to or not, this was asking Christian to bow in an act of submission to Islam and Allah," said the Christian, who asked that he named be withheld.
"There were maybe 250,000 people at the rally. Almost all were Muslims. So when we (Christians) are asked to bow, and we are in the extreme minority in the crowd, it is intimidating."
The Christian witness said thousands of Christians in attendance at the rally did not bow.
A Coptic Christian leader told WND he believes Qaradawi's request may reflect a larger emerging Islamic role in Egypt.

Anti-American muslims to demonstrate for Sharia in front of White House March 3rd.


Did you know that March 3rd will be We Hate America Day on the White House lawn? Feel free to counter-demonstrate. We should give them a nice American "welcome".

British extremist Anjem Choudary - who once said 'the flag of Islam will fly over the White House' - has announced he will lead a demonstration calling on Muslims to establish the Sharia law across America.
The rally, planned for March 3, is to take place just weeks after his on-screen row with Fox News presenter Sean Hannity.
Mr Choudary, 43, called Americans 'the biggest criminals in the world today.'
The former leader of outlawed group Islam4UK told the Daily Star 'we expect thousands to come out and support us.'
Mr Choudary said the March rally was organised by the Islamic Thinkers society, an extremist group based in New York.
Two other British extremists, Abu Izzadeen and Sayful Islam, have also been asked to speak at the demonstration.

In all my years I have never heard of such a thing as one party of lawmakers fleeing a state and hiding in a neighboring state for political advantage. Is is so difficult for teacher to face ponying a little cash for their pensions and health insurance?  Is it so hard for the government worker to face the difficulties that the private sector employee has been putting up with for years?  What would our founders think of the Dems' cynical ploy. Is it true that Wisconsin law prevents recall before the first years has been served in office? Could they be charged with abandonment? Dereliction of duty? This action is wrong in so many ways.  They outta be ashamed.

White House won't testify at stimulus hearings

Another case of Obama's ignore-it-and-it-will-go-away attitude. People have asked a lot of questions about his administration and he has determinedly ignored them. Congress will now look into Obama's signature 814 billion boondoggle, and I hope we Americans can get some "pay back".

The Obama White House won’t be sending a witness to defend the economic-stimulus package before a House Oversight Committee panel Wednesday.

The committee is holding a hearing on the impact of the stimulus package, which President Barack Obama signed almost two years ago. Testimony will come from a lineup of conservative economists, plus Josh Bivens of the left-leaning Economic Policy Institute, who was picked by committee Democrats.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R., Ohio), who is running the hearing, had asked Jared Bernstein and Christina Romer, who played major roles in preparing the package to testify or suggest another witness to represent the White House. Both declined.

Officials volunteered to send witnesses from the Transportation and Commerce departments but the offers were turned down.

Did Hollywood Destroy the Cyrus Family?

It appears that is what Billy Ray Cyrus is claiming, if he was quoted accurately by the New York Post. That Satan and Miley's "handlers" have led her into temptation, and he has taken a bad rap for her problems. Maybe.

On the other hand, can't anyone with an ounce of sense look at former child stars and see what percentage of them go bad, and figure out what the odds of a child star going bad are before signing one's own child up as a Hollywood star? You may notice that I live in Southern California. You may also notice that my kids are adorable and have a lot of personality. You may also notice that none of my kids work in Hollywood. Maybe on purpose?

One Fox commenator, formerlylib, has this to say, which I agree with:
Billy Ray is the parent. He let this happen. Sorry, Billy: You can't blame "handlers". The money and the boost to your "going nowhere" career were too much to resist.

Who did not see this coming? Rarely do child stars have a good experience growing up. Most of them are used and exploited! Then when they are no longer "cute", they are devastated and do just about anything to keep their career going and any money flowing in. Or they fall into addictions to relieve the pain. I see a very painful life for Miley - along the lines of Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears. Of the recent stars, Christina Aguilera seems to have fared the best. She is divorcing, but there's been no hint of a wild life on her part.

Annette Funicello seemed to fare okay - as the most adored Mouseketer growing up. But her parents were dogged in shielding her from the perils of fame. They really kept her down to earth. They were there and did not turn her over to "handlers". Very few are able to achieve what her parents did!

NPR warns Republicans not to defund public broadcasting

If NPR is defunded they could lose as many as 900 stations.

And that would hurt America how?

This is sounding better and better. If the NPR listeners like the programming so much let them pitch in. Or find advertisers like everybody else. What makes them so special that they don't have to pay their own way. Oh, wait. They're liberals. They want everybody ELSE to pay. Not them. Got it.

The head of National Public Radio on Monday warned House Republicans against zeroing out federal funding for public broadcasting, arguing that cutting off the annual subsidy could shut down some or all of the 900 public radio stations around the country.
The House Appropriations Committee last week unveiled its budget for the remainder of fiscal year 2011, which ends Sept. 30. It included nothing for NPR, which has been in the sights of Republicans who say the network's liberal agenda silences any other points of view. Opponents cited the firing of Fox News Channel contributor Juan Williams last fall as an example of its intolerance.

Terrorist fundraiser in conservative Yorba Linda, CA, citizens protest

YORBA LINDA, Calif. (KABC) -- Hundreds protested in Orange County on Sunday night, accusing speakers at an Islamic fundraiser of being radical Muslims.

"You're messing with Americans now. We're not England, we're not British, we're Americans," one protester yelled.

The protesters are upset over the speakers who headlined an event at the Yorba Linda Community Center. Spokesman Waqas Syed said the Islamic Circle of North America is raising money to fight homelessness and abuse, and the speakers were only invited to talk about their charity work.

Brooklyn-based Imam Siraj Wahhaj was once named as a co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, but he was never charged.

"He has said specifically he is in favor of Sharia law and stoning of women," said Rep. Ed. Royce.

Imam Amir Abdel Malik Ali publicly supports Hezbollah, which the CIA calls a terrorist group.

"These people are known terrorist instigators, not even terrorist sympathizers," said activist Deborah Pauly.

The Orange County Register failed to mention that Congressman Gary Miller (CA-42) and Congressman Ed Royce (CA-40) spoke at the protest against the islamic fundraiser. Also speaking were Yorba Linda city council-persons Nancy Rikel and John Anderson, and Villa Park City Councilwoman Deborah Pauly.

ICNA is linked to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Amir-Abdel Malik-Ali says, "The Israelis were in control of 9-11," which "was staged to give an excuse to wage war against Muslims around the world." "Stay conscious and ask Allah to raise the Muslims and give us victory over the disbeliever." When it's all over, the only one standing is gonna be us (Muslims)."

Siraj Wahaj is referred to by the Muslim Brotherhood as the "American Imam". He was named as an Unindicted Co Conspirator in the World Trade Center bombing investigation in 1993. He believes in converting gang members to Islam for the "day America will crumble." Wahaj says for the faithful "to go into the hood and prisons and convert disenfranchised minorities, and then arm and train them to carry out an Uzi Jihad in the inner cities."

Susan, spokesperson for the City of Yorba Linda Parks and Recreation Department said that the city was aware that the ICNA was scheduled to have an event at the center, but that they were a "public, city/community facility.  Legally, by state law you cannot deny a group access to the public facility."  The Parks and Rec department fielded many calls of protest prior to the event.

Valentine's Day = Day of Rage in Iran

I noticed the stories on the movie Just Go With It concentrated on the bikini rivalry going on between Brooklyn Decker, Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman, more than the plot(?) of the movie. Most people swear by Brooklyn Decker. She is the 20-something gal with a figure that no 40-year-old gal should have to live up to. Do you think she blows away the competition?

I had been chosen to be on the team to clean things up for the next occupant (no idea who that was). Boy, had the Obamas left a mess at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue! But it was a great feeling to clear out the junk and get things organized and decorated for the next President of the United States. I feel so energized this morning. Let's go get 'em in 2012. I want this dream to come true as quickly as possible.

They may also ask for your name and address.  There's no need to dodge this question.  Just answer politely and move on to the next call.

The goal is to have such a dramatic volume of calls on the subject that the message is clearly sent.

Thank you for all you do!! 

Congressmen Sessions, Nugent and Bishop's people assured me that they support the resolution and intend to defund Obamacare. The other people said that they would pass on the message, except for the offices of Scott and Foxx. Their phones went to answering machine and the message box was "full". Maybe we should defund the office staff for Foxx and Scott if they can't manage to empty out the message center on a daily basis?

Dems Jab at Republicans for voting down Patriot Act

Dems are the biggest bunch of hypocrites ever! They whine and complain about the Patriot act for a decade. Then when the first group of politicians in Washington with the guts to vote it down turns out to be Republicans, they point fingers at the Republican Party and claim it is a failure of leadership.  That if the Republicans didn't have the votes to pass it that it should never have been brought up for a vote.  Extending 3 portions of the Patriot Act failed to pass by 2/3rd on Tuesday by 13 votes.

As far as merits: all in all, Patriot Act should probably be renewed, but I get a chill giving it to the Libs to use. Don't know if I trust with powerful tools Democrat operatives staffing some key positions in FBI. For some lefties, their politics is like Islam: any abuse is justified in order to "right" a "wrong".

Patriot Act is a controversial expansion of power, there's a good reason why it has a sunset provision, you better trust who you give it to. When the Press is in opposition, you can be sure they'll hunt down any appearance of abuse, which makes it safer with Repubs at the helm. With Press and Dems at power, there's less of a balance.

Portions of Patriot Act set to expire Feb 28th

Will congress renew the Patriot Act without debate? That seems to be what the Wall Street Journal expects will happen.

Three sections of the USA Patriot Act are up for a vote on Feb. 28:

1. Roving surveillance of suspects who try to evade court-authorized wiretaps under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
2. Access to business records related to intelligence and terrorism investigations.
3. Surveillance of a "lone wolf" or suspect who isn't affiliated with a known group or foreign power.

All three of these activities now occur without a warrant, without oversight by a judge. This is not constitutional, in that under the fourth amendment we are entitled to protection from warrantless searches of our persons, papers and effects.

If we will not adhere to the constitution now, then WHEN! When the islamists give up and quit? That is not going to happen any time soon. We must keep our country safe and FREE for our citizens NOW. And stop letting foreigners determine our domestic policy. We must not let them take away our freedom or they WIN!

One commenter gave a form letter to send to congresspeople:

re: Repeal the Patriot Act. It is not lawfully possible to extend its provisions.

You honor your oath to support and defend our Constitution and hold it dear.

I trust that you will take care to do your duty.

Yet I am concerned that other less knowledgeable members of Congress might bring you into danger by their vote to extend the Patriot Act.
Your witness of their enacting a vote to extend will establish a 18USC4 “Misprision of Felony” burden upon you.
Please advise your fellow Congressmen of the burden that our penal code places upon them.
The expiration of the unconstitutional Patriot Act needs to occur by either default or unanimous rejection of extension – Our country does not need the burden of broad criminal indictment on Congressmen at this time.

There is evidence that prior votes for the Patriot Act were made in ignorance and so were without criminal intent. This vote is different.

The nature of the Patriot Act’s scheme to defraud us of our Constitution’s Fourth Amendment is now evidenced as being known by all Congressmen so criminal intent will be conclusively established and the criminal act would be a matter established by public record.

When delivering that warning to Congress I ask that you call for a record of each Congressman's vote so you clear yourself of any taint of criminal culpability in this mater.

Thanks again for becoming my Congressional Representative. I know that takes courage even if your love of freedom makes the courage seem small to you.

New York City released their vital statistics recently for year 2009. Did you know that 41% of all pregnancies in that city end in abortion? 87K "induced terminations" compared to 127K live births. What is all this about "safe, legal and rare"? Sounds like a load of B.S. There is nothing at all rare about abortion.

Some like to blame this on single motherhood, but of all of their live births, 55,767 were to unwed mothers and 71,006 were to married ladies.

Of the 87K abortions, 41K were to blacks, 28K to hispanics, 10K to whites and 5K to asians.

Bottom line, black women had 27.4K births and 41k abortions in NYC in 2009. More abortions than births, about 4 out of 7. Hispanic women had 40K births and 28K abortions, about 3 out of 7. White women had 38K births and 10K abortions, about 1 out of 5. Asian women had 18K births and 5K abortions, about 1 out of 5.

The New York Times failed to mention that 4 our of 7 black pregnancies end in abortion. But they did manage to interview a few young ladies at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Greenwich Village.

A 17-year-old girl there to pick up a friend said she had had an abortion in May. It was her second; the first was when she was 15. The girl said she sometimes used condoms. “But I wasn’t using them when I got pregnant,” she said. “I might use them more now, but I don’t know.” Like the other women outside the clinic, she asked not to be named to preserve her privacy.

A 20-year-old woman being helped by two male friends said she had her first abortion at 16, and also had a 7-month-old child. “It was an accident,” the woman said. “I used a condom every time, but I already have a kid, and I’m not ready for another one.”

Another woman, who was 22, said she had become pregnant after not using birth control because a doctor had told her she was infertile. “I’ve always been against abortion,” the woman, who lives on Staten Island, said. “But if I had a kid now, it would have a terrible life. I’d rather wait.”

Ulsterman says president Jarrett is doing the best she can.

Obama is clueless. Totally clueless. I am not talking a little out of step here. I am talking the man has no idea what is going on around him. This is not coming from me. I am relaying it from some still around him on a regular basis. These people are getting increasingly concerned over just how “out of it”, that is the phrase repeated to me, Obama has become. His primary focus is now getting elected in ‘12. Everything else has been given over to Jarrett and her group. Everything. The president has no interest in policy. None. No interest in working legislation. None. No interest in forging a specific agenda. None. He is being told what he needs to say and that is it. That is the extent of his interest. “Just make it look good.” Exact words right there. President Obama is obsessed 24/7 with just “looking good”. If something goes well, he gets happy and outgoing. If something makes him look badly, he lashes out and pouts. The man is bouncing off both of those extremes even more now than he used to and it appears to be getting worse and worse. The word “manic” is being used more and more regarding his moods these days.

FYI there was a closed door meeting recently under the guise of discussions on Egypt. That meeting did not involve Egypt much if at all. This information is relayed second hand but I believe it to be completely reliable. Source told that meeting was run by Jarrett from start to end. Obama said very little. Asked no questions. The primary focus was how to protect Obamacare so it was not a “liability” in 2012 campaign. White House already spending significant time/resources preparing legal argument for the Supreme Court case that is coming. Second focus was apparently “birther” related. Jarrett expressed concern over possible newly passed eligibility requirements in states.

This Barry Soetoro, occupier of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, decided on his own that British secrets regarding their Trident warheads were not going to be so secret anymore once the Russians asked him for the information. The Brits declined to reveal the exact size of their nuclear arsenal, and Wikileaks documents reveal that Obama went ahead and gave the Russians ALL the serial numbers of Trident missiles the U.S. has transferred to Britain.

Outrage! American female soldiers forced to give up helmet for hijab

Are we going to Muslim countries like Iraq and Afghanistan to liberate their women or to be politically correct? The Female Engagement Team program officially started Oct. 1, 2010 though some teams have been operating in Afghanistan since late May 2010, according to Stars and Stripes.  How many of our female soldiers are being force to be politically correct and wear the Islamic headdress?  We don't know how many 'teams' there are, how many are on those teams, how long these teams will continue to work.

Most important, a headscarf is no protection against a sniper or IED. A helmet is standard protective gear for the most important part of the human body: the brain. A female soldier in a headscarf limits her peripheral vision, a problem when operating in a hostile or potentially hostile environment. With the bizarre hybrid of a camouflage uniform topped by a headscarf, a female service member is identifying herself as an American soldier but simultaneously making a concession to Islam (in uniform, as a representative of the American government) -- hardly an image to inspire confidence, and one that will provoke derision from a religiously motivated enemy that views such acts as weakness.

Fox News Team Severely Beaten and Hospitalized in Cairo

FOX News Channel's veteran foreign correspondent Greg Palkot and his camerman Olaf Wiig have suffered severe injuries in Cairo while covering the unrest in the Egypt capital. Palkot was badly beaten and Wiig has a possible broken jaw after attacked by pro-Hosni Mubarak supporters yesterday. Both were hospitalized overnight. Out of concern for the safety of its journalists, Fox News kept the incident a secret until their release from the hospital today. In 2007, the same producer, Olaf Wiig, was taken hostage in the Gaza strip with correspondent Steve Centanni. They were released 2 weeks later.

Their injuries were described as "grave".

Egyptian blogger Sandmonkey arrested UPDATE: released

People are saying on Twitter that influential blogger Sandmonkey was arrested by Egyptian authorities and his site was taken down.  His site, www.sandmonkey.org is indeed offline, although there are web caches available.  American Thinker reports this news and publishes one of Sandmonkey's last screeds:

If you are in Egypt, I am calling on all of you to head down to Tahrir today and Friday. It is imperative to show them that the battle for the soul of Egypt isn't over and done with. I am calling you to bring your friends, to bring medical supplies, to go and see what Mubarak's gurantees look like in real life. Egypt needs you. Be Heroes.

You watched on TV as "Pro-Mubarak Protesters" - thugs who were paid money by NDP members by admission of High NDP officials- started attacking the peaceful unarmed protesters in Tahrir square.

They attacked them with sticks, threw stones at them, brought in men riding horses and camels- in what must be the most surreal scene ever shown on TV- and carrying whips to beat up the protesters. And then the Bullets started getting fired and Molotov cocktails started getting thrown at the Anti-Mubarak Protesters as the Army standing idly by, allowing it all to happen and not doing anything about it.

Dozens were killed, hundreds injured, and there was no help sent by ambulances. The Police never showed up to stop those attacking because the ones who were captured by the Anti-mubarak people had police ID's on them. They were the police and they were there to shoot and kill people and even tried to set the Egyptian Museum on Fire.

The Aim was clear: Use the clashes as pretext to ban such demonstrations under pretexts of concern for public safety and order, and to prevent disunity amongst the people of Egypt. 

PJ TV reported that Sandmonkey is disappointed in Obama's handling of the Egyptian protest. He says that Obama should support America's ideals (democracy) over America's interests. I bet the fact that he says he doesn't like Obama but that he liked George Bush didn't go over well at the White House. My guess is he will not be receiving any care packages from the White House during his incarceration.



Sandmonkey reports that Muslim Brotherhood has little to do with the protest. And that they wanted to be unarmed in order to highlight the violence of those they were opposing.

This man appears to represent the community of well-meaning bloggers and social media activists who started the protest. Whether they would be able to protect Egypt from takeover from violent islamic extremists is in doubt. Bloggers would need military help in order to make that happen.

UPDATE: @ramyyaacoub tweets that Sandmonkey was released and "did not run away" from authorities. He is now headed for a safe location.

54 degrees and windy today

I know California is a dung heap of socialism and a wasteland for business. I know, I know. But I tell you, the mountains are great for skiing, the beaches are good for everything else. I used to complain about California weather and the lack of seasons. But now that I am, er, more seasoned, I have an appreciation for California itself.

I hope there is a way to save this fine state from the liberals who have just about destroyed its economy.
